The Sioux City Journal wrote recently of the new location for the "Sioux City" scultpure at Third and Pierce streets. WA Klinger crews installed pylons to support the artwork. The Sioux City Journal Writes:
Crews on Tuesday installed a 50-foot yellow sculpture by the artist John Henry at Third and Pierce streets. The 6,000-pound artwork is fashioned from steel beams representing Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota....
..."This is the best location for it," said Art Center Director Al Harris-Fernandez. "It will have plenty of space around it and function like it was originally intended to be in an open space, instead of being dwarfed between buildings."
A $6 million museum Learning Center also is planned nearby.
WA Klinger dismantled the sculpture in 2008 when it was put in storage only now to be re-assembled at the Sioux City Art Center, a project also built by WA Klinger.
