Morningside College New Academic Village

Sioux City, IA

W.A. KLINGER BUILDS FIRST
NEW CAMPUS CLASSROOM BUILDING IN 40 YEARS

W.A. Klinger was awarded the Morningside College Academic Village project. The work consisted of several projects grouped to help create an exciting new “face” for the campus as well as the first new classroom building on campus in 40 years.

The new Bueller Rohfls Hall academic building is approximately 38,000 SF over four stories built against the side of an existing hill with a connecting bridge to the smaller Kone Advising Center, a bean-shaped structure. The new Kone building houses classrooms for the Nursing Education and Ag Industries Departments along with the Advising Center. The combined facility is the signature building (read “crown jewel”) for the nearly 120-year old campus.

The other components of the project included a reversed entrance and renovated interior of the existing Learning Center to create The Gleeson Atrium, a campus “living room” which is highly utilized for both study and socializing. Additionally, Eppley Auditorium received a new parking lot and sidewalks along with extensive landscaping.
