PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Chris Larsen Park Riverfront Redevelopment project transformed the former site of the Argosy Casino along the Missouri River into a vibrant, multi-use community space. The $12 million development includes a variety of amenities designed to activate the riverfront and enhance access for residents and visitors alike.
This redevelopment features spaces for both small and large family or community gatherings, as well as dedicated event spaces. Recreational amenities include two basketball courts, fitness stations, and play equipment designed for children ages 2-12. A new dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs was also installed.
Three park shelters and restroom facilities were added to provide convenience for visitors. The site also integrates native plantings for sustainability and extensive enhancements to the recreational trail system, improving connectivity to both Interstate 29 and Downtown Sioux City.
The project fully revitalized this prime location, creating a destination for recreation and community events
