PROJECT OVERVIEW
Klinger was selected as MOC-Floyd Valley’s Construction Manager (as Agent) in December, 2019. During pre-construction, we helped the school district pass its bond referendum and kept the project on track through a trying COVID environment. Value engineering efforts netted over $6M in project savings. One hundred forty- four bids were acquired over 40 bid categories in 4 bid packages with 19 alternates.
Our team managed the scope development, schedule, budget, and quality control throughout the life of the project. The 134,000 SF elementary school serves six sections of classes TK-5th grade and is accompanied by new turf athletic facilities (baseball, softball, football, and track) on a 38-acre site.
This project was started prior to the CMr (Construction Manager at Risk) project delivery method becoming an option in the state of Iowa. The CMaA delivery method does not allow for work to be self-performed by the Construction Manager.
